Simple vegetarian dish made with paneer(cottage cheese) and palak(spinach).You can use your home oven to bake it.
Ingredients [ to serve 4 ]
- Spinach – 1/2 Kg.
- Paneer(Cottage Cheese) – 100 gms., cut into cubes
- Onion – 1 small, diced
- Tomato – 1 small,diced
- Butter – 3 tbsp.
- Bay Leaves – 2 or 3
- Cumin Seeds – 1 tbsp.
- Salt – To taste
- Black Pepper Powder – 1/4 tbsp.
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp.
- Green Chillis – 3 Or 4
- Garam Masala Powder – 1 tbsp.
- Corriander Powder – 1/4 tbsp.
- Cumin Powder – 1/4 tbsp.
- Red Chilli Powder – 1/4 tbsp.
- Vegetable Oil – As needed
Preparation Method
- Mix ginger/garlic paste, green chillis and spinach in water. Pressure cook it for 7-8 mins.
- Cut the paneer into small cubes. Keep two cubes for garnishing.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaves, cumin seeds and chopped onions. Fry on medium heat untill the onions are dark brown.
- Add all other spices mentioned in the ingredients list and stir well.
- Mix ginger/garlic paste, green chillis and spinach in water. Pressure cook it for 7-8 mins.
- Take a pan and fry the paneer cubes in butter untill they turn slightly brown.
- Mix ginger/garlic paste, green chillis and spinach in water. Pressure cook it for 7-8 mins.
- Add the cooked spinach to the fried paneer and mix well.
- Put the mixture into a baking try, add rest of the butter and bake for 30 mins. at 180 degrees.
- Grate the paneer kept for garnishing and spread it over the preparation.
- Add tomato and onions (if you want) to garnish, as shown in the image.
- You are ready to eat!
